How many hours of sleep do we really need?

Postby OSmod » 15 Mar 2011 00:11

Six hours of continuous sleep is considered to be the physiological minimum per day, and most adults require seven and a half hours. Less than 4hrs sleep per night ongoing is considered severe sleep deprivation!

So out at sea we should be aiming to have 5.5 – 7.5 hrs sleep in any one 24hr period, with one 5 hour period if at all possible.
